Microsoft now owns Havok

Microsoft has scooped up a valuable video game industry mainstay, Irish physics firm Havok, for an undisclosed amount, the company announced in a blog post today. Havok, which licenses its technology to nearly every game maker under the sun, is known best for helping power the realistic motion of bodies, bullets, and vehicles in franchises like Halo and Call of Duty . Havok is also known for powering movie special effects for films like  The Matrix and  Troy. Intel bought Havok in 2007, and Microsoft has now acquired it from the chip maker with plans to integrate the physics engine tech into the existing Windows and Xbox game developer toolsets. Those include the Direct X12 suite of game programming APIs, the VisualStudio app development kit, and Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, which most recently was shown powering a stunning real-time destructive environment in the upcoming crime game Crackdown 3. Target stores to sell the Apple Watch this week

The retail presence for Apple's first smartwatch is growing; Best Buy already has in-store displays dedicated to showing off the Apple Watch, and now Target is preparing to kick off sales. The Apple Watch will arrive in some stores "this week," according to the retailer, and will make it to all stores come October 25th. Online orders will be available starting on the 18th.

It seems even a three-week wait for the Indian launch of the iPhone 6S and 6s Plus is too long for Delhiites, who are willing to pay big bucks to get their hands on the new Apple smartphones right now. Since the international launch on September 25, customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have seized 180 of the phones — all to be sold in the city’s grey market for over `1 lakh each, sources said. “The seizures were made from different passengers and most of them were coming from Singapore or Hong Kong. One flyer was caught with 10 new iPhone 6S,” said a customs official at IGIA. Smuggled handsets are already on sale at Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh, the largest grey market for phones in all of north India.

LG Launches Dual Display Smartphone

  The LG V10 smartphone features a secondary screen above the main 5.7-inch display that will be used for notifications as well as aiding multitasking. The second "always-on" screen will display the time, date, weather and battery level when the main screen is off. When the main screen is on, the smaller display will be used to quickly switch between apps, access favourite contacts and highlight notifications.
