MIUI 7 BETA version now available .

Xiaomi has made available the beta version of MIUI 7, the next-generation version of its Android-based operating system, on its website.

The beta version of the OS is available for all Xiaomi devices available in India including Mi 3, Redmi 2, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 3G and 4G, Mi 4 and Mi 4i.

If you wish to try the OS you can go to the MIUI 7 forum thread and download and flash the OS on your Xiaomi phone. Remember that you will be using the beta build and not the stable one so there could be some issues and bugs.

If you've never used a beta ROM on your Xiaomi phone, you'll need the
MIUI ROM Flashing tool or Mi PC Suite and a Windows PC to flash it. Xiaomi will update the beta build of the OS every two weeks. Users on the beta version of MIUI can check the Updater app for the new beta build.

According to Xiaomi, the company has refined MIUI over the past year to create MIUI 7, which has a colourful interface with better performance, battery-saving optimizations and an even wider variety of personalisation options.Devices running MIUI 7 can see up to 30% faster response time when launching system apps, and 10% better battery life in daily usage compared to MIUI 6.
The new software includes several new features designed for India including support for 10 Indian languages. Visual IVR, a feature introduced in beta with MIUI 6 that shows the voice menu on the phone's screen for customer support calls now supports 50 companies' IVR menus.

The software also comes with a smart SMS filter that filters service messages into a separate notification tab. The quick OTP feature detects OTPs in a message and lets users easily copy an OTP code at the very moment when the notification pops up.

The phone features four integrated system themes - Rose, Pink Blush, Ocean Breeze, and High Life.

Can’t wait 3 weeks for iPhone 6S? Pay Rs 1 lakh

It seems even a three-week wait for the Indian launch of the iPhone 6S and 6s Plus is too long for Delhiites, who are willing to pay big bucks to get their hands on the new Apple smartphones right now. Since the international launch on September 25, customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have seized 180 of the phones — all to be sold in the city’s grey market for over `1 lakh each, sources said. “The seizures were made from different passengers and most of them were coming from Singapore or Hong Kong. One flyer was caught with 10 new iPhone 6S,” said a customs official at IGIA. Smuggled handsets are already on sale at Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh, the largest grey market for phones in all of north India.

Star Wars fans got quite a treat earlier this week with a double dose of Star Wars media hitting store shelves. Along with the Episode III DVD, LucasArts also shipped Star Wars Battlefront II, the sequel to last year's Battlefront. Battlefront II, the sequel to the first team-based shooter set in a Star Wars universe, adds a few notable improvements, but doesn't stray too far from the formula that made the original game a big commercial success. You'll still take control of various infantry classes and vehicles as you fight for control of capture points on conquest-style maps. New space combat maps and playable Jedi represent some incremental improvements, but for the most part, Battlefront II treads familiar ground, which is great for Star Wars fanatics and fans of team-based online shooters. Space combat is arguably the best new feature in Battlefront II. The biggest improvement made to the standard vehicle-infantry combat combination is the add...
