2015 has been an exciting year for gamers and 2016 should be even better. Several highly-anticipated PS4 and Xbox One games are coming, as well as some PC and Nintendo console gems. In order of release date, these are the 39 games we're most excited about for 2015 and 2016, including lots of new games announced at E3 2015.

1) Assassin's Creed Syndicate

Release date: 23 October 2015 (19 November on PC), available to pre-order now
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC
The latest installment in the Assassin's Creed is Syndicate, and it'll feature two brand-new assassins called Jacob and Evie Frye (they're twins - and yes, you'll be able to play as a woman!). It's set in London in 1868, during the Victorian era.

2) HALO 5 : Gaurdians

3) TOM CLANCY'S Rainbow Six Siege 

Release date: 1 December 2015, available to preorder now for £39.99
Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC

First announced in June 2014 at E3, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege is a first-person shooter with a big focus on the multiplayer element. Destructible environments, teamplay and realism are said to be its defining qualities.

Following on from 2010's Just Cause 2, this open world action-adventure game will be set in a map similar to its predecessor's but will include all-new caverns to explore, and more realistically scalable buildings. The grappling hook and parachute that those who've played Just Cause 2 will be familiar with are set to be joined by a new (and likely really awesome) wingsuit.
